Summary: AU fic. Still takes place in Sunnydale minus the Hellmouth factor. Tara is a guidance counselor at Sunnydale High, Faith a physical education teacher. Willow holds a computer related job, working for a huge firm. Buffy is a gym instructor.

Chapter 7

Aww comon Faith, give me a smile. You got your Chinese, just as we said we would. Tara gave her gloomy friend a slight nudge as she made a left turn into Sunnydale High.

Grumpily holding up a takeout bag, Faith pouted like a small kid and muttered, Yeah, in a takeout bag.

With full knowledge of the reason why Faith was so grouchy, Tara decided to continue teasing her, So whats the problem with the takeout bag?

T! You know full well why I wanted to have a proper meal in the restaurant today. That hot chick in the Bronze is working there today. At that specific time. She gave me all the details! All you had to do was make the right turn instead of the left and we would have had enough time during our one hour lunch break! Faith was almost on the brink of whining to Tara, You spoilt my fun T.

Come on Faith, youll still have fun without her. Tara replied reassuringly.

And how can you possibly know that? Faith argued back like a young teenage schoolgirl, a behaviour that would have been quite unlike her usual self in other peoples perceptions, but not a side completely unknown to Tara.

Cause I know you will have fun without her. Reversing into an empty space and coming to a stop before she turned and looked at Faith straight in the eye with all seriousness before giving her a smirk, Cause I believe firmly and whole-heartedly in your ability to send anyone from zero to horny in under a minute.

Like magic, Faiths grouchiness simply vanished and she was soon grinning cheek to cheek like a Cheshire cat. She didnt say anything as she got out of the car but Tara knew, secretly inside, behind that big cheesy grin, Faith was grateful for receiving that form of reassurance from her. Faith may look tough on the outside, but her insecurities came in many forms. Faiths was an amazing woman and although Tara, could not for the life of her, figure out why she possessed those insecurities, it didnt matter to her, as long as she was there to stand by her best friend.

She heard an impatient tapping on the window screen from Faith, who called out in an equally impatient tone, Tare, get outta there. Really, get out now!

Rolling her eyes at her friends impatience, Tara got out hurriedly and said in a rather annoyed tone, What?!

You will not believe this T, look whos there, straight ahead. Faith exclaimed, whilst pointing straight ahead at a woman with red hair.

Taras eyes followed the direction of Faiths fingers before feeling her breath catch midway in her throat and uttered breathlessly, Willow

Willow ditched her briefcase in the car boot, slamming the top down hard as she tried to take out her frustrations on her car. She contemplated giving the car tires a good solid kick, but decided otherwise. <If I break my foot now, the definition of screwed up of my day today will definitely move up to a whole new level.>

So there Willow stood, completely in her own world filled with thoughts of her screwed up day, completely oblivious to the two women standing by, barely ten meters away, staring at her. And even more utterly unaware of the blonde who stood there with eyes as wide as saucers, gaping like a goldfish in a fish bowl.

Tare, stop standing there looking like a goldfish you dork. Go talk to her. Faith had come up behind her friend and given her a firm push.

B-but Tara started stuttering, I-I c-c-cant. I w-w-wont know w-what to s-say.

O.k Faith replied slowly before shoving her Chinese takeout bag into Taras arms, Reds hot and since you arent gonna do anything about it, Im gonna go over this very second and try out my zero to horny charm on her. <That will get you moving for sure.>

Before Faith could take her first step, Tara had already shoved her Chinese takeout bag back in her face and was already walking swiftly towards the redhead. <Thats my girl.> Faith thought with a satisfied grin on her face.

H-hey Tara started up nervously as she approached Willow from the side.

Huh? What? Willow mumbled as she looked up, confused as to who could be talking to her. Before she knew what was happening, her eyes were set on the certain blonde she had been looking for just a while ago, completely stumped for a second or two.

Seeing the confused look on Willows face, Tara felt her heart sink. <Shes forgotten me already> O-oh urm I-Im s-s-sorry. I d-dont know i-if you r-r-remember, b-but Im

TARA! Willow literally cried out as she cut Tara off mid-sentence, her face beaming with joy. <Oh my god, I swear the entire world heard that. Gees, youre such a geek Willow Rosenberg!> Willow reprimanded herself sternly.

Clearly taken aback by Willows response, having resigned briefly to the reality that Willow had forgotten her, Tara grinned gleefully, relief evident in her facial features. Y-you r-remember me!

Of course I do silly! In fact, I was just looking for you a while ago. Willow replied excitedly.

You w-were? Tara asked as she dipped her head shyly.

Nodding her head eagerly, Mmhmm, I was told to swing by the school to check up on the systems, so I decided see if I could find you to urm you know maybe see if you wanted to meet up for a meal Or to just hang out or something Cause Cause I uh you know havent seen you around in the Bronze these couple of days. Oh wait, that could partly be my fault cause I havent been to the Bronze ever since we met, not that Im saying I expected you to be there every single day waiting for me and urm Willow gradually trailed off helplessly as she ran out of babbling steam.

Seeing the sheepish look on Willows face, Tara chuckled softly and decided to help her out, Id love to Willow. Both the meal and hanging out. Tara added, smiling softly.

Bouncing on the tip of her toes like an energizer bunny, Willow asked elatedly, Really?

Feeling her heart melt into a puddle of mush as she watched Willow. <Goddess, she is just too adorable for words!> Tara nodded her head in affirmation, her smile never once fading.

Ok! Willow started up enthusiastically, How about we meet up tomorrow night for a meal, then maybe we can head out to the Bronze for a little while or something if you feel up to it.

Out of the corner of her eye, Tara saw Faith walking away towards the school building, flashing her a see I told you so look with full on smugness. <Yes Faith, you were right Again.> Tara laughed quietly to herself as she tilted her head to one side, listening to each and every word that Willow was saying as she continued making arrangements for their night out tomorrow, enjoying every single second she was spending with the truly precious redhead. She simply couldnt wait for tomorrow!
